Resort-Style Lake Living
Spanning 944 acres, Lake Balboa is the largest lake in the luxurious Hot Springs Village. Surrounded by the magnificent 26,000-acre Ouachita Mountains, Hot Springs Village offers stunning views, making it perfect for nature lovers. The neighborhood contains 10 other lakes in addition to Balboa, as well as nine golf courses, a private police force, and a fire department.
Arkansas’s Private Island
Many residents refer to Lake Balboa as their “private island.” Hot Springs Village contains two beaches, with Balboa being the largest one. As long as you’re a village resident or an invited guest, you can enjoy Lake Balboa’s beach. These sandy shores feature rentable shade shelters and a covered pavilion with picnic tables, restrooms, a fireplace, and a grill.
Although Lake Balboa is private, you can acquire lake access by staying in the various Hot Springs Village rentals. Once there, make sure to stop by Balboa’s full-service marina, which offers boat and slip rentals. The marina also features a bait shop and a winsome island-themed tiki bar specializing in tropical cocktails and ice cream.
If you like to explore, you can find many picturesque hiking trails nearby. And if you’re feeling adventurous, you can go waterfall chasing without even leaving the lake. Created by the Balboa Dam, the waterfall can range from a small stream to a miniature Niagara. At its fullest flow, it is an excellent backdrop for family photos.
Fantastic Fishing
Residents praise Hot Springs Village for its exceptional fishing prospects. The Property Owners Association (POA) and the Lakes Management Department monitor the community lakes to maintain a sufficient fish population. Additionally, they routinely stock them with bass, catfish, sunfish, crappie, and walleye.
If you are interested in fishing in the lakes, make sure to follow Hot Springs Village and Arkansas fishing and boating regulations. Anyone 16 years of age or older must have a fishing license.
Local Feel, Island Views
If you long for the resort lifestyle but tire of traveling to faraway exotic islands, you can find your staycation at Lake Balboa. Lake Balboa has it all—a friendly community, full-service marina, gorgeous beach, access to golf courses, and so much more.
