In 2006, Cindy Lanham began her career in real estate. She invested in foreclosures and condos before eventually owning a 260-unit apartment complex in Houston, Texas. In 2012, she became a licensed agent, and by her second year, she was a top producer.
Cindy grew up on the Texas lakes. She remembers being taught to ski by her uncle when she was eight and floating by the dock on Possum Kingdom Lake with her friends at eighteen. But her favorite lake memory was when she and her husband, Wayne, bought their home on Lake Brownwood. She remembers waking up the day after her wedding and seeing her family out on the lake—realizing she was finally living out her lake home dream.
Cindy and her husband have six children and four grandchildren, and the lake has become their favorite gathering place. They love to sit around the bonfire, grab the guitar, and sing old country songs together. Their family motto is “raise ‘em up right.” Similarly, as a real estate agent, she prioritizes doing things the right way.
When it comes to business, Cindy has a client-first mentality. For example, when she first began her career in real estate, she helped a Hispanic couple buy their first home in Texas. They had moved from Mexico years before but had only rented, never having enough to cover a down payment.
As grandparents, the couple wanted a home where they could gather as a family for the holidays. Yet, due to some difficult circumstances, the transaction nearly did not go through. But, unlike the other agent, who left the couple to resolve the issue alone, Cindy stayed with them late into the night to make sure the transaction was completed. And she even took them to dinner afterward to celebrate their new home.
If you want an agent who insists on getting the best for you, there’s no one better to call than Cindy Lanham!
In 2019, Wayne began his real estate career with Lake Homes Realty. Although he is new to the real estate world, he has an extensive business background. In 1987, Wayne founded RWL Recycling, Inc., a waste paper packaging facility in Abeline. A few years later, he purchased the assets of an existing scrap metal processor in Abilene that was founded in 1909. Then, in 1993, he utilized these assets to found the Texas Metals & Recycling Co. Both recycling operations have been prominent figures in West Texas for all types of recycling.
Wayne also has experience in Farm and Ranch properties. Throughout college, he worked on a large ranch in Matador, Texas, and today, he and his wife, Cindy, own farmland outside of Abilene. He understands the value of hard work and owning property, and these experiences prepared him for his career as a real estate agent. Several years ago, when Cindy’s transactions increased exponentially, he began accompanying her on her weekend showings. Eventually, he decided to join her full-time and merge his business expertise with her real estate prowess. Since procuring his license, Wayne has proved to be a vital force on the Cindy Lanham team.
