History of Bluff Dale
Pioneers who settled near the site’s artesian wells gave Bluff Dale—on US Highway 377—and the North Paluxy River—in northeastern Erath County—the original name of Bluff Spring. But in 1877, Bluff Dale became the region’s official name at the authorization of the post office. Jack Glenn provided land for a new townsite on the line to the east when the Fort Worth and Rio Grande Railway was built in 1889. The relocated town flourished for 20 years before becoming incorporated in 1908. By 1915, the town had a bank and a newspaper called the Bluff Dale Sun. By 1989, there were three churches, a volunteer fire department, a study and garden club, a beautification committee, and five historic sites.
Picturesque Lake Views
Tucked away in the rolling hills of central Texas, Mountain Lakes Ranch is the ideal location to unwind and get away from the city. The community’s lakes—Beacon Lake and Angler’s Cove Lake—are both impeccably maintained. Beacon Lake is a 100-acre body of water primarily utilized for boating. On the lakeshore, there is a rack for canoes and kayaks. Many anglers enjoy hopping in these boats and fishing for the lake’s thriving bass population. The community’s other lake—Angler’s Cove—spans 45 acres and offers a fishing hotspot. Anyone can cast a line with ease thanks to the accessible dock.

The neighborhood’s zero-entry pool is an excellent place to cool off. Covered picnic tables, a park, and a playground are also conveniently located between the pool and Beacon Lake. The clubhouse, which includes a kitchen, grills, tables, and chairs, is available to rent for both members and non-members. In addition, the community offers an RV park as well as storage space for boats, RVs, and trailers.
