Down on Lake Catherine

Lake Catherine is right next to Lake Hamilton and is a part of that oasis in Arkansas. Everything you could ever want or need is on or near the lake. It is 1,940 acres and the state park is located on the shore.

The Essentials

There is practically nothing you could want more at the lake. There are many shops and neighborhood restaurants in the area. Not to add, there are plenty of resorts and country clubs available if you want to unwind or get in a fast round of golf. Furthermore, 10 minutes worth of a drive will take you to several hospitals near the lake. If arriving from outside the area, Memorial Field Airport and Southern Airway Express are the two greatest airports in the city if you are trying to be at Lake Catherine.

A Bolt of History

Arkansas is well known for its numerous, exquisite lakes, each of which has a distinct personality and flavor. Among the numerous major lakes present here are the Diamond Lakes of Southwest Arkansas, a group of five lakes. One of those five places is Lake Catherine. This 1,940-acre lake is one of the most popular in the state for recreational and residential uses. It is in a prime location on the southern outskirts of Hot Springs. To produce energy, the Arkansas Power & Light Co. (now Entergy) built Remmel Dam in the 1920’s. The engineers for the armed forces finished the gigantic structure. It started off as a way to boost hydroelectricity for the area, but now is more of a recreational area for Lake Catherine.

Fishing and Recreation

The fish in Lake Catherine are redfish, trout, sheepshead, flounder, triple tail, bass, catfish, and monster gar. You can fish in their auxiliary creeks too which will have some fun options for our favorite aquatic friends too. Winter and fall are the best times to fish at this lake.

Buy Your Dream

One of the best lakes in the South is Lake Catherine. This is the spot for you if you want to go fishing, relax, play golf, or be in a friendly neighborhood. Even horse rides are an option. There is something unique about this lake.
