Undoubtedly the longest Lake Grapevine trail, Northshore showcases 22 miles of spectacular views. If interested in accessing this picturesque path, bikers can enter through Murrell Park and the MADD shelter, locations visible on Google Maps. The trail runs along the north shoreline of Lake Grapevine and features a mixture of wooded areas and lake views. It also provides two routes varying in difficulty: the easier eastern side and the more challenging western segment. The eastern side— loops 1-4—is ideal for most intermediate riders and features long sandy stretches, rock ledges, tree roots, and meadows. However, the western path—loops 5-7—contains various “rock gardens” and is considered technical terrain by most bikers. If you want to get an idea of these trails, check out the clip below.

Although Knob Hills and Northshore are ideal for intermediate and expert bikers, Horseshoe is an excellent option for beginners. The trail features 5.4 miles of mostly flat terrain with the occasional short rocky climb, drop-off, or creek crossing. The majority of these rugged sections are located closer to the scenic shoreline of Lake Grapevine. However, if bikers choose to avoid these challenging segments, they can easily find a nearby ride-around.

Horseshoe also is popular among beginner bikers because it contains restrooms, water spigots, and covered picnic spots with grills along the path. Moreover, it isn’t far from local eateries and the superb pubs located on Main Street. So, it’s a great spot to visit if you want to get in post-work exercise and grab dinner afterward.
