A Historic Reservoir
Established as a freshwater reservoir in 1968, Lake Ray Hubbard was initially called Forney Lake. The name was changed in 1969 to honor the man who chaired the Dallas Parks and Recreation System Board. The Rockwall-Forney Dam continues to manage water distribution for this impressive lake, which features 111 miles of shoreline.
