Located approximately an hour and a half outside of Charlotte in the eastern part of Columbia, South Carolina, lies Lake Katherine. The area, which in the early 1900s housed weekend cottages, is today a highly sought-after, handy lakefront suburb.

Furthermore, a short drive away are two excellent places to appreciate nature: Sesquicentennial State Park and Congaree National Park. Additionally, The Riverbanks Zoo & Garden is also close by, and there you may engage in a number of activities in addition to seeing the animals, such as learning about historical sites, riding a train, zipping through the air, climbing the Sky-High Safari, scaling a rock wall, and more.

At the intersection of Fort Jackson Boulevard and Cross Hill Market, there are several places to eat and shop. The Trenholm Plaza, Forest Drive, and Devine Street are entertainment and shopping districts, among others, and have a variety of excellent restaurants close by.

A short drive will bring you to Trenholm Plaza, which is where Publix and Fresh Market are located. It is also close to Piggly Wiggly on Devine Street, Whole Foods at Cross Hill Market, Lowe’s Foods, Trader Joe’s, and Kroger on Forest Drive.
