The lake is 70 miles southeast of Abilene and 10 miles north of Brownwood and offers a tranquil rural setting. For nearly 50 years, this Texas hotspot has hosted the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/BrownwoodBassClub\/\">Brownwood Bass Club Open Tournament<\/a> in the spring, offering cash prizes through 25th place! While boating these 6,490 acres, fishermen can enjoy views of the 600-acre wooded state park and utilize a free public boat launch. The main body of the lake showcases limestone bluffs and boulders, while the creek arms contain mud and sand. Due to the abundance of standing timber and laydowns, the upper ends of Ned Creek and Pecan Bayou boast exceptional fishing conditions. Additionally, Lake Brownwood is the ideal spot for dock fishermen. When fishing for this species, anglers have the best luck from early May to late October. During this season, white bass congregate in the main lake area. However, you can find them along the creek channels during the late summer. Additionally, night fishing off the illuminated docks is an effective\u2014and much cooler\u2014way to catch white bass during the summer.
