Spofford Lake has a vast stretch of water for lake activities such as boating, water skiing, fishing, or swimming.

The Spofford Sailing Club was established in 1898 and is still around today. The fleet can commonly be seen sailing the lake. The club hosts regional and national regattas along with weekly races.

Pine Grove Golf Course features views of Spofford Lake, water features, rock outcroppings, and wildlife habitats among its nine-hole course.

The Chesterfield Gorge Natural Area is a 13-acre state park just east of the lake that features a gorge, waterfalls, and brooks along its hiking trails.
