Over 1,500 Acres of Water

Roosevelt Lake is made of a north and south basin, connected by a channel in the middle. The long, narrow body of water covers 1,510 acres.

It was initially called Crooked Lake, but in 1919 it was changed to Roosevelt to honor the president's death.

An All-Day Hangout

Boating is a popular activity at Roosevelt Lake, along with water skiing, jet skiing, tubing, and wakeboarding. Its exceptionally clear waters also make it a hit swimming location.

Anglers catch walleye, perch, northern pike, bass, muskies, and many other fish out of the lake. Bald eagles, osprey, warblers, whip-or-wills, great blue herons, and many other birds fly through the area, making it a prime bird-watching location.

The Moose River ATV Trail runs 26 miles into the forest. The Emily to Outing Trail runs between the towns where people also enjoy off-roading.
