The Carle Richland Memorial Hospital is under five miles away, and the Evansville Regional Airport is under 100 miles away for medical care and travel accommodations.

East Fork Lake spans 934 acres, with an average depth of 10 feet and a maximum depth of 36 feet.

Public access docks are available on the north shore near the campground. There is no swim area designated here, but swimming is allowed from boats only in one area along the south shore.

If you wish to go fishing, this is a great lake for bass fishing! The most prominent types of fish will be channel catfish, walleye, black crappie, bluegill, largemouth bass, and white crappie.

Red Hills State Park is 967 acres of wooded hills, ravines, meadows, and springs. The park offers a 40-acre lake, hiking trails, equestrian trails, bike trails, seasonal hunting, shaded picnic areas, and a campground.

Chauncey Marsh Nature Preserve is a 627-acre satellite area of Red Hills State Park. It contains the best remaining example of a Wabash Border Marsh Ecosystem, with marshes, dry and wet prairie, lush bottomland forest, and thriving riverine communities.
